3- What kind of media institutions might distribute your media product and why?

For question three, I worked with my partner Bethany to try and answer the question successfully. This allowed us to share our ideas, which we spoke individually, making a better evaluation than one that we would have created alone. Some of the film opening has been stretched, so that we are talking over the correct titles. This has led to an anticipated section at the end where no one is talking.

Our script can be seen below-
Briony: We are going to be answering question 3 of the evaluation tasks.
Beth: First of all, our production and distribution companies are invented, this was mainly to support the overall genre and help the audience understand more.
Briony: “A STAB IN THE DARK” production company is relating back to the title of the film and plays with the theme of the knife, and its importance. This is also a play on words of the phrase “a shot in the Dark”, which links back to the film industry, and in particular, the 1964 film, bearing the same name. We also put it onto a black screen to create a slightly ironic effect as well as using a similar strategy to Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
Beth: The distribution company “COPZ AND ROBBERZ” was also improvised and created by us. This is because there is a common theme of policemen and criminals throughout the genre. In Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, for example, Policemen are present and participate in a chase with the criminals.
Briony: For an official production company we would have like to have Ska Films as they have produced films from the British Gangster genre such as Lock stock and Snatch. We would prefer to have a company whom is mainly based in Britain compared to an American company to keep the low budget British feel of our overall piece.
Beth: Our inspiration for our own film included Lock Stock, Snatch, Sexy Beast and Layer Cake. These all are very British films that have become inspirational and successful for the British Gangster genre. They contain very famous British actors who are well known for this genre, which we wanted to replicate ourselves. This would allow institutions to want to work with our film as they would feel appealed by our creation.
