5- How did you attract/address your audience?

I also worked on question five with my partner Bethany. We put together a list of questions that we then asked to a variety of our school friends, of both genders. This allowed us to get a vast array of answers. We also asked some people who do media studies and some who do not, resulting in answers from those who know more about media and those who know little. We also edited it together to ensure that a range of answers were presents, as it shows a mixture of opinions.

We wanted to attract a specific audience through our film opening. The monochrome effect was one that we found to be important, as it allowed an interesting and modern technique that a young audience would enjoy. We also wanted it to be comparative to the real film openings, so that they would want to keep watching it and find it appealing. The representation of the characters was something that we wanted to put in a creative light, by incorporating both traditional and modern representations, to create a contemporary film, with some traditional features.

Through the audience feedback above, I have discovered that the standards we had were met and even excelled. The monochrome feature was one that was repeatedly commented on, for its artistic appeal. The film opening seemed to also attract a wider range of audiences than expected, as one reviewee commented that they would continue to watch this film, even though it contrasts to their typical preferences. Many of those we questioned also explained that they found the representations to be very inventive and modern.
